The 8-day, 7-night “Complete Cusco + Rainbow Mountain” tour package offers a comprehensive experience to discover the wonders of Cusco and its surroundings. The itinerary includes a city tour of Cusco’s main archaeological sites, visits to the salt mines of Maras and the agricultural terraces of Moray, the ascent to the Rainbow Mountain, a tour of the Sacred Valley with an overnight stay in Aguas Calientes, and a visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Additionally, a tour of the Southern Valley of Cusco is conducted, visiting Tipón, Pikillaqta, and the Church of Andahuaylillas. The package concludes with airport transfer. This package provides a complete and diverse experience to explore the history, culture, and nature of the Cusco region.

Itinerary

DAY 01:

LIMA / CUSCO / CUSCO CITY TOURS

Tour Start: 1:20 PM to 4:30 PM. The city tour starts between 1:20 – 1:45 PM approximately with the pick-up of our passengers from their respective hotels. In our tour, we will visit five archaeological sites near the city of Cusco. Koricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara, and Tambomachay. Our guide will provide us with the history and importance of each of these splendid places, and we will also have the opportunity to visit craft centers to observe the manufacturing of garments made from alpaca and llama wool. We will have enough time at each site to take the respective photos. The return to the city of Cusco will be approximately at 7:00 PM.

DAY 02:

MARAS MORAY / SALINERAS

Tour Start: 8:40 AM to 2:30 PM. The tour to the salt mines of Maras and the Inca agricultural terraces of Moray is an ideal complement to your excursions to Machu Picchu. You will appreciate snow-covered mountains, cultivated fields, and colorful traditional villages. Overnight in Cusco
Places to Visit: Chinchero Typical Village, Moray Archaeological Park, Salineras (Salt Mines), Maras Typical Village.

DAY 03:

RAINBOW MOUNTAIN VINICUNCA

Tour Start: 4:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Dare to take this adventure and witness this gift of nature with your family or friends. This tour is complementary to Machu Picchu and is available every day of the year. You can start this adventure in a group or privately. Arrival in Cusco around 6:00 PM

DAY 04:

SACRED VALLEY TOUR + 01 NIGHT IN AGUAS CALIENTES

Tour Start: 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Our tour of the Sacred Valley will begin with the pick-up from your hotel between 8:10 – 8:45 AM approximately. We will first visit the archaeological site of Pisaq and the indigenous market of Pisaq, where we will appreciate the beauty of this archaeological site and the ancient customs of this beautiful town. Pisaq is an important archaeological center that combines mystical Inca constructions and the natural wealth of the Sacred Valley. Continuing our tour, we will arrive at the city of Urubamba where we will have lunch prepared with native products of this region. After lunch, we will visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, which was a strategic military, religious, and agricultural center. The architectural scenery is exceptionally interesting due to the size, style, and originality of its buildings. The Sacred Valley tour will end around 4:00 PM in the town of Ollantaytambo, where we will board our train to Aguas Calientes. In Aguas Calientes, we will spend the night, and our guide will be waiting for us to provide the necessary instructions for our tour of the Machu Picchu archaeological site the next day.

DAY 05:

MACHU PICCHU FULL DAY TOUR

Tour Start: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Once in the town of Aguas Calientes, we will ascend by bus for approximately 30 minutes along the mountainside to reach the citadel of Machu Picchu, a masterpiece of engineering and architecture that is believed to have served as a sanctuary and resting place for the Inca Pachacutec. Machu Picchu, which means “Old Mountain,” is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Our guide will provide an explanation of this architectural marvel, and then we will be free to take the necessary photos. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the train station in Aguas Calientes to take our return train to Ollantaytambo, where we will be waiting to take you to your respective hotel in Cusco.

DAY 06:

CUSCO / FREE DAY

DAY 07:

PUNO MAIN PORT – UROS FLOATING ISLANDS

Our departure begins at 7:45 AM from your hotel. The first stop we will make is at the Uros Floating Islands, where our visit will start with an introduction to each island and how they built these islands on the highest navigable lake in the world. Our guide will explain the importance of these islands, and our visit will last a maximum of 1.5 hours.

SECOND VISIT – AMANTANI ISLAND

To reach the island of Amantani, it will take a maximum of 3 hours of navigation, approximately 9 km during the journey. You will be able to observe a great variety of scenic beauty, such as the mountain range (the Andes). At the main port of Amantani, the community president will welcome us and divide us into groups so that families can take care of providing accommodation, meals, and company. During the afternoon, you will have the option to go for a walk to one of the sacred mountains known as “Pacha Tata,” and this hike will start under the coordination of our guide. Amantani is also known for the friendliness of its people and for being the natural home of the Cantuta Flower. There are eight communities that are dedicated to terrace farming, sheep breeding, and the artisanal production of textiles and stone carvings. In the evening, you should rest.

DAY 08:

AMANTANI – TAQUILE

After a delicious typical breakfast, we will continue to the next island, Taquile. The navigation will take approximately 1 hour. You will have the last opportunity to get to know Taquile thoroughly. Most of the people in Taquile are very cooperative and well-organized. This is why the Taquileños have shown a high degree of advancement in textile art, receiving recognition from UNESCO. It is worth mentioning that spinning and weaving are mainly done by men, starting at the age of eight. Women exclusively spin and weave. Life in Taquile is still largely unchanged by modernity. The visit will take an average of 2 hours, and you will have 1 hour to enjoy a delicious typical lunch. If you really want to be part of this community, you can voluntarily support them by purchasing some of their handicrafts so that the community can have some means of sustainability and continue to showcase their existence to future travelers. Finally, our guide will inform you of the return time, arriving at 5:00 PM in the city of Puno.

DAY 09:

CUSCO / SOUTH VALLEY TOUR CUSCO

Tour Start: 8:40 AM to 2:30 PM. Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. The first stop will be the archaeological center of Tipón, an Inca ceremonial center where the flow of water from the high peaks of Mount Pachatusan to the lowlands of the valley was controlled through a stone channel. We will then visit the archaeological complex of Pikillaqta, which literally means “city of fleas.” It is an ancient walled city of the Wari Empire and was one of the most important regional centers of the Wari Culture in their expansion towards the city of Cusco. Finally, we will conclude the journey by visiting the beautiful Church of Andahuaylillas, a small colonial chapel known as the “Sistine Chapel of America” due to the beauty of its murals. The tour ends at the Plaza de Armas in Cusco at approximately 2:30 PM.
